The weather in the South West of the UK has been very wet and windy today. We had heavy rain this morning and then lighter rain this afternoon but still windy so I haven't been out to exercise.
Both my hubby and me did the housework this morning, we delayed it from yesterday because we knew today's forecast wasn't good.
I looked through my DVDs today to seeing I had any exercise videos and lo and behold I still had my Callenetics DVD. Callenetics is very similar to Pilates in that the movements are small and precise.
I used to practice Callenetics when my girls were at primary school, they are now 36 and 38, so a fair few years ago. Well I certainly felt the stretches, in fact I couldn't do some of the exercises. Note to self, I need to stretch and strengthen my body, particularly my legs and tummy muscles. Boy that was hard.๐
Hope you've all had a good day
Keep well and stay safe.๐๐

I remember the calenetics trend from years ago and I was 15 when it came into fashion and tried it and preferred ordinary aerobics instead.

It worked really well for me when my girls were at school, I had so much strength and was very supple, not so now. I can tell I haven't been to my yoga class for a while.
I also prefer aerobic exercise now, I love my bike, power walks and even a bit of jogging.๐๐ถโโ๏ธ๐โโ๏ธ๐ดโโ๏ธ
I used to practise it with ease Jerrybut of course I'm now in my 60's, not 20's anymore๐
I'm glad the rain stayed away for you. Our next day of rain forecast is Sunday. Last night the forecaster said 20 degrees for Saturday deopping to 10 on Sunday and rain, that's quite some drop.๐ฎ
Oh most definitely,I'm back in my 20's again - result๐๐
You must be pretty fit in lots of other ways. All your cycling, jogging and power walking and walking! Iโve never heard of calenetics Iโll have to look it up! ๐
Thank you Ali, I do need to work on strength and flexibility thought, good for the joints.
Hmm, showing my age now in relation to Callenetics๐. Think you might be too young to know what it is.๐
It really wasn't all that pleasant out, was it Alicia, so I don't blame you for staying home. Oh I remember Callanetics! I used to have that DVD too. Wasn't it based on tiny little movements, being repeated over and over? I seem to remember it was very effective at strength building, and the lady who invented it, had scoliosis? I can remember having alternate days of that and aerobics and it was a good combination. Quite hard work though, as you say! ๐๐

It was awful today wasn't it and cold, back out tomorrow though๐.
I got rid of my original VHS tape, I'm going back again๐. I bought the DVD and just thought it was the same as the original, oh no it wasn't, it's the next level so is much harder, think I've completely lost my tummy muscles๐.
Yes I think she did have Scoliosis, I'd forgotten that. Yes aerobics and Callenetics was a good combination.๐
It's given me food for thought now to work on some strength and stretch exercises.
Sorry to here you didn't get out today but you sound like you found plenty to keep you busy. The weather was really good here today, warm and sunny. xx
Fortunately it was only one day, its dry tomorrow albeit chilly. It's going to be good on Thursday, Friday and Saturday so that's good. I'll be out walking tomorrow. So pleased you had lovely weather, isn't it good to feel the warmth.๐xx
