Veg Galore

Picked today. Think we can produce for whole village including beetroot, radish and potatoes. 5 cucumbers nearly ready. I picked the first one from my outdoor growbag! But I can't take the credit for the rest. Good lockdown hobby to keep OH totally happy. Don't grow lettuce as hate washing it but everything else including celeriac. Toms not ripe yet.

We grow our own veg as well and enjoy eating it as well!

I’m growing too! Like you, yellow courgettes, green and French beans, tomatoes, chard, 3 types of lettuce, butternut squash (experiment), blueberry, raspberry, strawberry, kale, purple sprouting, asparagus peas (which are actually not that nice and take up a lot of room 👋 bye!) lots of herbs and sunflowers for the birds later!

Isn’t it great?! 💕❤️Xx

Hi Leo60, glad you said that about asparagus peas, I had to make do this year with old seed, there was an old pack of asparagus peas so I tried growing them but they are horrible, thought I’d done something wrong. Ten year old sweet corn seeds grow surprisingly well.

Pretty plants tho', shame! xx I had to make do with runner seeds from last year, while I knew they would grow ok, I also knew that the darned sparrows would eat all the flowers! I was going to try a white flowered variety this year! xx

I net them, so the little feathered pests can't get em!

That looks so super-fresh!

Great harvest! I love beets any way you prepare them! I just made some pickled ones. They look so pretty on a plate.

They do. We eat them roasted, boiled, grated raw with salad Spanish style and pickled.

I prefer without the vinegar, they have such a sweet earthy taste xx

I love beets, I make a salad with them, cubed beets, grated carrot, small amount of chopped onion, quartered radishes, Feta or hard Goats cheese, and a dressing of your choice.

Lovely grub as they say, many of these things can be grown in growbags. When we had allotments used to grow and pass on to others due to the amount produced. Never used to have much luck with cucumbers even in the greenhouse, carrots were another one that sometimes were only small. Enjoy your fresh grown food it usually tastes much different to shop bought.

That is just fabulous well done you.

Clearly have amazing green fingers -unlike some of us who just have to glance at anything growing for it to shrivel up immediately !

Looks delectable. I will be making stir fry organic yellow, and green squash , multicolored mini sweet peppers, carrots with Portabello mushrooms. Grilled Salmon, and sweet potatoes.
