Recipes please 🙏

Hi everyone,

I love cooking as anyone on the HU vegan forum will see. I like to experiment and try new flavours.

Apart from the usual things I have recently used Harissa, Berbere spice and ras El hanout and also made an Ethiopian stew.

So what I was wondering is does anyone have any unusual recipes maybe from other cultures, Indian, Chinese, Thai, African etc or spice combinations I may not have heard of or tried.

Although I’m vegan if you did have a recipe that contains meat I’m sure I can adapt it.

Many thanks

Ali 👩‍🍳🌱

Jerry thank you so much for all of that information. It’s made my day. It’s so exciting. There is so much there that I haven’t heard of and a few weeks ago I searched and search and couldn’t find anything other that what I’d already found before.

Each link takes you to a recipe and then onto another link with more and more it’s great. Just what I was looking for and more. Thank you so much 💚

Hopefully others will be able to add to this post as we all love discovering New flavours.

You’re a star! 🌟

Ali

Edit..not being one to hang around I’m making this one now for lunch 😁

Hi Ali

What an excellent question and I see Hidden has given you some great links. I've also found that Veganuary has excellent recipes and you might find some unusual dishes there, I've had a quick scan and there's a few I like the sound of:

uk.veganuary.com/meal-of-th...

I also get the updates from One Green Planet, I expect you may get these but not sure, anyway they always have some very good recipes:

onegreenplanet.org/channel/...

I'll be creating different meals once I'm off this diet. I have to say though the one with the peanut sauce I made the other day is awesome, I love it, here's the recipe again just in case you can't find it:

My one tip for the recipe above it roast the carrots until they are just about done before adding any other veg. To be honest I should have thought of that as carrots are going to take a lot longer to roast than a lot of other vegetables.

Happy cooking Ali and I'm looking forward to seeing your creations. :) :)

Is Salt and pepper tofu on your list already?

Thank you! No, it’s not. I have done tofu with panko crumbs and tofish and chips but not Salt and Pepper tofu. Have you made this? 😀

I found a very nice web site for my granddaughter who is vegan. It is : happycow.net

Seems like a strange name for a vegan site. I guess cows may be happy if you are vegan if cows are aware of such a thing. Ha Ha
