Sorry, Hidden ... it is not raining here and I enjoyed a Pub brunch.

Apparently they were busy when they opened at 09:00, but only about half the tables were in use @ 12:30.

It was nice to eat something I had not cooked.

And not wash up I bet!!

It's not for me at the moment. I'm still Shielded. I wouldn't be happy going inside a pub or restaurant for a while but my friends are organising fish and chips on my village green next week as I can finally meet up with more than one person at a social distance.

I wish anyone who is reopening their business today all the best with nothing but good luck and best of wishes.

I just only hope that the majority of the public are sensible and don't spoil it for others. If it goes wrong further virus spread can happen which will only extend my delay in vital treatment which is getting extremely worrying.

But I am really pleased that someone has been out and had a good experience.

(I) am also still shielding as much as possible. We are all missing our social lives prior to the Corona virus pandemic.( I ) will continue to self isolate, and wear protective masks, etc. as much as possible when traveling outside my abode. This will give me, my loved ones, and the public at large a better chance of not contracting, or spreading this deadly disease. If I have to limit being with my loved ones till a vaccine is approved, in hopefully 6 months, maybe less, then this is what( I )will do. ( I ) am willing to give up 6-12 months of isolating, to eventually spend time hugging, and kissing my loved ones for the many years to follow. This is ( my) motivation to keep myself, my loved ones, and the public at large as safe as (I ) can. People can drink at home, which is more economical anyway. People can drink from their home's with friends on Zoom. When people drink in pubs/bars/restaurants I am sure their thinking to take precautions against spreading this virus will not at that time be a priority. You can't drink alcoholic beverages through a mask. Ohhhhhhhhh I typed/spoke too fast, I am sure some one who profits from selling alcoholic beverages will make a mask with a hole in it that you can open to drink through a straw, or other means. I pray to GOD people will use wisdom in this situation, and choose not to add to the uptake in Corona virus cases. It is better to be safe than to be sorry, and having to show up to Zoom, Facebook, and virtual funeral services. Three virtual funerals were too many for me. I now have a 4th one to attend. I have a 60 year old former co-worker. He worked out, and ate organic, and was the picture of health. I will be attending his funeral as soon as the arrangement information is sent to me.

I am pleased, however I live on a busy High Street, and the Pub on the corner can have odd crowds outside their doors at the best of times. I am praying, that the local "trouble" element, will not be buying from the pub "off license bit" and then drinking on the pavement, which will highly likely turn into a brawl, when often some our small shops get their windows broken. These small shops do need trade, and will not be helped by anything like this.

Dr surgeries have never closed, certainly not around my area. But specialist treatments and certain vital services have been put on hold until the infection rate has refused.

My understanding is that dentistry had restarted a while ago but certain procedures are not available if they produce to much aerosol.

I personally have a big issues with surgeries who give the receptionist the power to decide whether byou get a Drs appointment or not. That is part of what went wrong in the Mid Staffordshire scandal, receptionists were triagingA&E patients bwhuch is a highly skilled job.

My GP surgery is brilliant, but in the past I have said to the receptionist, "are you trained to medically telephone triage?" That usually works.

I'm not knocking receptionists. The ones at my surgery bare brilliant and my Consultants secretary are brilliant. But their job description is in admin, not traige. Sorry for the rant but if you've read the Mid-Staffs report you can see how dangerous it is.

I am a GP receptionist we are told by the GP to ask what the issue is,we do not triage,if we have no appointments left(telephone at the moment) we would go to GP and ask advice, obviously this is where I work I cannot comment on other surgeries

Thats exactly it, you help the patients and liaise with the GP. And I have the most respect for you as I know it's a job where you just don't stop.

But I have come across some surgeries where the receptionist has overstepped the mark in their job description. But that's not to say everyone does at all.

If you don't want to tell the receptionist what the appointment is for then make something up!

I am in a situation where I have a direct email to my GP, direct access so if I wake up at 6am and email them,. I will get an appointment within about 3-4 hrs and bypass the receptionist. They have a system called MYGP. It's brilliant.

The receptionists are also brilliant. It means they can get on with chasing up the hospital.

I often bake them a cake when I go in.
