Okay so it’s not quite my photo of Sandgate I posted at the weekend but it did inspire me to have a go at waves. I have put them in order of me doing them starting from the top left. I feel I’m sort of getting there with my painting as it’s only been a few weeks since I started my lockdown painting.
Next on the agenda is how to give the waves more depth and a better curl but until recently I’ve been concentrating on which way up to hold the paint brush! 🙃

Your paintings look really fantastic! I really like way you got the waves in the last picture to be that tall. The said in the 3rd picture reminds me of what happened everyday at 3 pm when I had my last vacation last Summer! The waves would come up to the sand and divide the sitting area. It was very interesting and a big surprise the first day we had this happen.
You said it! It’s the first time in 30 years that we can’t go.
They are brilliant Ali, bet you didn't think you could paint a while back. You've done so well with those Ali. It's much harder to paint than draw as it's not so easy to control a paint brush.
I think they are great. I can really relate because I am learning as well. I have been doing the digital painting, I think you call it that but I have started buying some supplies. I want too try water colour like you and painting with a pallet knife, I think that's what you call it. A member on here told me that. It's a scary step too take, I'm waiting for the moment. 🎨🖼
It was someone on here that inspired me but I cant find them now as I sadly cant remember who it was and cant find the post. Yes I used to stare at a blank page and couldnt draw a thing then took the step after looking at some awful art on line that was selling for millions and the barriers came down. Good luck.
Thank you. I know what you mean. I've looked into that and that water is quite foamy and has a lot of reflected light lol and I'm not sure I can master that. That's on the agenda after perfecting depth to the waves. If it wasnt lock down I'd probably try and join a class to help move things on. Thank you for you input. Very kind 💚
You're very good! My favourites are the two on the right. I tried watercolour painting but it was embarrassing so I'm sticking with my paint by numbers!☺
That made me laugh because that’s the sort of thing I’d have said! I used to say I couldn’t draw something to look like what it was meant to be even if my life was at stake! Then something just clicked.
