Another one of my dog walks. local stream which leads to a mere. You often see Kingfishers perched on the fallen tree crossing the stream hunting sticklebacks

God looks gorgeous how I miss my dog for cuddles and walks I had to give her up due to moving in with muum after a relationship breakdown,
Oh no. Poor you x
Aww, how sad Pp, I'm really sorry to hear that, I would be absolutely heartbroken and I'm sure you are. xx
Gorgeous!
Looks a beautiful place for your dog walk, so calming.
I'm just back from walking mine which was so stressful as out of nowhere an alsatian/ German shepherd not to sure came at us I was shouting like an idiot to see if someone would come get it. They took their time and finally got a grip of it. I am sick and tired of things like this happening. I mean it doesn't happen every day . My dog is on a short lead next to me and my garden is well fenced off so that there is no chance of him getting out.
Sorry about the rant 😊
It's a bad situation here for dog walking, every scrap of land is being sold to property developers. Parks are now full of dog walkers, difficult to find your own space
I know how you feel Buddy. That has happened to me a few times albeit several years ago. A really horrible looking dog and a few other dogs, all with the same owner, ran at my dog who was on the lead (thank God). My dog was screeching because he wanted to play and it took all the strength I had to hold him back. This one dog in particular just stood there glaring at him with hate in its eyes. I yelled at him to back off until my throat was hoarse because I knew what would happen if he got hold of my dog. The owner was walking back to his car laughing his head off, he just suddenly whistled and they all ran off, much to my relief. The dog we had at the time was still quite young and all he wanted to do was play but I knew it would have ended badly and I was so afraid for him. There is always one somewhere that will spoil it for others. I also had an incident with a GS too and had the same dog at the time, fortunately his owner kept him on the lead when there were other dogs around but it was so vicious with other dogs.
I'm definitely not blaming the breed or anything. As I have a small jack Russell and he thinks he's so much bigger than he actually is and stood up to the other dog today and would have fought with it which I really didn't want to happen as my dog would have came off worse .
It just really gets to me as I keep my dog on a short lead and to the inside and i pick up the dog poo, always have etc etc. Sorry ranting again 🤣
I know what you mean, it is really upsetting though and it plays on your mind afterwards. I don't mean to blame the breed either as I have known some lovely GS dogs who have been responsibly looked after. To be honest, I think it's more the owners at fault than the dogs a lot of the time. x
Looks very pleasant, the dogs must really enjoy it. x
My dog is a border collie, she loves the open space, difficult to get her in the car when we finish the walk. She always knows where the car is parked and will hide or hangs back when we approach it, she never wants to go home
I wish I could come with you. Such lovely places near to where you live. You are so Lucky but nice of you to share the photos with us.
I live in a post industrial town very little countryside left, even our greenbelt is being sold off to property developers. I worry about my sons and grandchildren, there will be very little left for them
It is so upsetting, I agree with you. I love nature and the countryside. About 6 years ago a group of interested people (including myself) held a meeting to form an environmental and sustainability group. We try to educate and encourage people to realize how quickly the nstural world is changing and how we have to take some responsibility for this.
We also took over a Woodland Trust woodlandnwhich has been a haven for many of us locals I can tell you.. Particularly as we have had to stay home because of Covid 19 to stay safe. During the nice weather I packed a flask and spent a couple of hours there most days. The wildlife and solitude there always lift my spirits.
I understand people have to have somewhere to live but the rate houses and estates are being built more and more land is continually being taken up. This of course is having a marked effect on wildlife. I worry for the future of our world as a whole Dallo. I sincerely hope when this pandemic is over countries will come together tot ake action and protect it for future generations to enjoy.

What a pretty place Dallo. My husband would love to see Kingfishers, he thinks they are special birds. Thanks for sharing. x
Fantastic. I envy you the kingfishers! What an excellent place to walk! 🙏
