Loungingsofa - With regards to pins and needles

Since having my liver transplant in Feb of this year I have had numbness and pins and needles in both hands especially in the thumbs and index fingers. I have to be very wary that I don't burn myself as I have little sensation of temperature.

i spoke with .my.consultant about this who said that it is very common amongst transplant patients and is caused by the cocktail of drugs that we have to consume and that it should disappear over time. I too have trouble undressing hat kids and pulling open the kids on tins. I think I can put up with it for the moment especially as I was told that without the operation I'd have been dead within three months. Better to suffer pins and needles than be a corpse in a coffin !!!

Hi Loungingsofa, That's blunt, but oh so true! Medicine can't always make life perfect, but sometimes it can save it and make life liveable, so well done for your positivity and determination! 👍
