Hey guys, hope your all staying safe, just to let you know I have had the first B12 injection on Wednesday afternoon, another one next Tuesday, I really hope it kicks in soon my pinky and the second finger is really tingling, had a strange text from my GP this morning saying that she has prescribed me with 20mg Atorvastin 1 to be taken at night for my cholesterol I believe, as was showing 5.7 but been the same for about 4 years... I hope that I am not going to be turned into a junkie, am not keen on any meds.. can anyone direct me to any good decent food sites, I am pretty sure I am eating the right things but maybe am not.

Thanks in advance for any advice, suggestions and please stay safe and healthy

Hi mascotty02,

Yes Atorvastatin is, as its name suggests, a statin, used for the lowering of cholesterol. There's still quite a lot of controversy about statins and the widespread prescribing of them by GPs, to anyone of an interesting age. I can only tell you about the side-effects I've had, over a period of around 8 years of taking them. None! I was reluctant at the start, simply because the prescribing is so widespread and doctors do get quite pushy about wanting you to take them. But statins work quietly in the background and I can honestly assure you they won't turn you into any kind of 'junkie'. They are purely preventative and work efficiently for most people.

As a suggestion, how about HealthUnlocked's Healthy Eating forum. Two of our Moderators in the Positive Wellbeing community, Jerry and Activity 2004, are also Administrators of the group, so you'd be among people you know already, and its a very lively and interesting group.

I do hope your B12 helps a lot! Take care. 😊

Hi Callendersgal, Thank you, your description is very appreciative and I think I have chatted and done surveys for Jerry in the past, may drop a line to him and have a look through the Healthy Eating forum, with the meds I have had over the last couple of years I was getting worried, I am trying to lose as many drugs as I can as a couple of them do put a belly on me and I really need to try and get back to the old (young) me again.... there were times not to long ago when I was in the gym 2-3 times a week and now, I can't even walk into one or I get to the the front door and decide against it and go home again. ...so belly down and health back up, its a struggle and never been in this situation before, you good advice and appreciated

Thank you, stay safe
