Great.
My son already cycles to work - from between Wimbledon and Kingston-O-T to Canary Wharf.
Well done to your son.
When I was working full time and part time I also used to cycle, the only time I didn't was if it was icy, raining hard or extremely windy and that was down to safety.
I used to walk to work when I could or get off the bus or train a stop earlier and walk the rest of the way.
Now I walk almost everywhere and find it does me good.
That's what they say to do. Well done on walking now, it really does make you feel good.π
That sounds great Alicia! Let's hope that it really does come to fruition on a grand scale. I have a few doubts, having seen the end result of an entire bike loan project in my own city, (which was the end of it, following vandalism and logistics problems). But I'd like to think it might work! π
I really hope it does, it's about time the powers that be acted on what they say, we need to be greener.
That's so sad about the bike loan project, some people don't treat others' property very well at all. The scheme where I used to work was very good where we bought bikes and paid no tax.
Let's hope this is what happens.π
It certainly is, I'm thrilled as I'm both a keen cyclist and walker. I know I'm fortunate to be able to do this as I know there are many people who can't and I really feel for them.
Sounds like you need 24 hours in the day.π
I do think It's the way to go ahead into the future. In our city we have bikes placed all around and it has been fairly successful. I love cycling and I a trying to get my fitness levels up to make use of it again. The e scooter sounds like a very good idea. Due to some of my conditions some days walking long distances is a no go so the e scooter sounds very interesting for people like me that sometimes have difficulty getting about. I definitely think the younger generations will go for this and it's going to be great to see less cars on the road. xx
Thank you Bobby. It really is the way ahead, it would be great to see less traffic on the roads, I've been enjoying cycling far more during lockdown as there have been less cars on the road. I have to say though the traffic is increasing.
The e scooter is a very good idea and as you say if people are unable to cycle or walk then that's the way to go.
I totally agree, I think the younger generation have got this.
I'm really hoping this will happen xx
Ah yes, I'm happy with thatππ
If you're cycling on the flat and of course downhill it's so much easier than walking. I can understand the uphill when you have heart problems.
That's right it doesn't and is better for the legs.
TOO TRUE IT WILL. Unfortunately I cannot due to my shot balance, disabled, wldn't couldn't go anywhere near a bike, scooter...BUT MAJORITY CAN and perhaps IMPROVED CYCKLE ROUTES FOR CYCLISTS, BROUGHT IN EMPHASIS BY THE CURRENT SITUATION...HARDER TO SELF DISTANCE ON BUSES, ON TRAINS...
Thank you and an excellent reply. I'm so sorry you wouldn't be able to cycle or walk but with people doing this it would make it safer for people like you. Bring it on I say and I hope the Government are true to their word.
