I love the west country, walked the west country coast path in my younger days...... enjoyed back packing as a hobby...... had my honeymoon in 1970 at Torquay.... visiting Kents Cavern just along the coast.
Wish I could do it all again, but disabled, aged 76 with too many medical problems, so I must rely on my memories! 😀
I remember The Bone Cavern, an amazing cave system in Brixham, Unfortunately closed to the public now for Health and Safety reasons.
It was Beautiful. I went in there with my parents in the early 60s.
Cheers, Midori
Fascinating elanaoali! It's a pity it's not open to the public, but it's not always possible to achieve safely or without a huge budget. Interesting to think of it all beneath your feet as you walk!
That's fine, we're a friendly lot in Bristol. Before I moved to Bristol, I lived in a small West Country town, near a village that in the Middle Ages was known for the inhabitants throwing stones at strangers. About 50 years ago things hadn't moved on, as entertainment on Friday or Saturday night's usually involved a punch up with the inhabitants of other villages.
