Hi Hidden ,
I love listening to music.ππ I listen to Soft Rock, Country Crossover, etc.. My favorite bands are: Jonas Brothers, Foo Fighters, Train, Kelly Clarkson, etc..ππ
Never heard of train will give them a listen, ππππΆ
Have you watched Smallville? The theme song was done by Train.ππ
Think I've watched a few episodes years back, don't remember much though, are they an American band?
Yes. The song is βDrops of Jupiter β.
Ahh just looked them up on Google and the singer was in led Zeppelin, think I've heard of them.lol, cool π
Theyβre great!ππ
The Jonas brothers has a brother who is a Type 1 Diabetic.
Just got that completely wrong he was in a led Zeppelin cover band π
I don't think he was in Led Zep, but Pat Monaghan had a Zeppelin cover band before Train was formed.
Yes I realised that after I posted π doh!! π
I like it, that's going on my playlist xx
Both groups are fantastic!ππ
Yes.
No haven't seen this before, where is it?
Dear Florence83,
There is a 'Seventies' Channel, on my BT Box- I don't know if this is also on 'Freeview' or not- but I quite enjoy this. I have a, very good ( and quite extensive) selection of CDs, some apparently 'Quite Rare'. The Beatles 'White Album' and 'Sgt Peppers'- some Pink Floyd, The Wall, Wish You Were Here and Dark Side Of The Moon. I have a Moody Blues 'Anthology', along with a Supertramp 'Anthology', A Special- Twenty Five Year Anniversary Edition, of Deep Purple's ' Fireball'. Along with some 'Interesting' Oddities... 'The Carpenters' played on Pan Pipes, and also, a Collection of 'Different Musical Styles' again on Pan Pipes. I even have CDs of 'Keyboard Music' and 'Praguian Harp', so yes quite a Bit....
This only Scratches The Surface, of my Collection, and that's without my Very Extensive DVD Library. I have all the Morse, with the great Late John Thaw- I have all the Johnathan Creek DVDs, except the One Off Specials. I also have a Sir Norman Wisdom Collection and ALL series of 'House' starring Hugh Lawrie, and Omar Epps.... to name but a few...
So yes Listening, to Music, certainly but I Might Just watch a DVD.... or one of the Recordings, that I have, on my 'Digi Box' of course.
Whatever Music, you have Florence, enjoy it. Kindest Regards
AndrewT
Wow sounds like you have a lot π been listening to Disney piano music while my daughter's been off school, it's really soothing, piano music is good for sleeping
What I listen to changes from minute to minute, and my tastes are pretty broad. As far as contemporary music goes, lately I've been listening to New Zealand artist, Sarah Mary Chadwick (her album, The Queen Who Stole the Sky, in particular), as well as Finneas (brother of the popular Billie Eilish, who I also enjoy), Cage the Elephant, Hobo Johnson, Lizzo, and Orville Peck, amongst many others.
Some of my favorite artists are The Kinks, Pulp, Blur, Depeche Mode, The Magnetic Fields, Richard Thompson, Warren Zevon, Jim Croce, Billy Joel -- I love good songwriting, mostly.
Oh, and my hands are especially red and crusty because I already had a problem with eczema on them, and the more frequent hand-washing has only exacerbated the problem.
I like a bit Billy joel, I always get this weird familiar feeling when I hear longest time and it was released when I was a baby so I reckon it must be a song that was played a lot In the house maybe? It's probably a good thing our hands are red and crusty it means we've been washing our hands lots, just been putting lots of e45 on
Yeah, when I was younger I'd always want to know what the songs were about, I've been listening a lot to stereophonics lately (I'm Welsh), there's one song in particular from their album scream above the sounds called "before anyone knew our name" about their handmade who died and just reminicisng about life in Wales before they were famous, it's beautiful, their latest album "kind" is a lot to do with being kinder to yourself and a big theme around mental health, good one to listen to if anyone's struggling β₯οΈ
That's meant to say bandmate not handmade
I really like Billie eilish all I ever wanted or is it everything I wanted(I think that's what it's called) haven't listened to her other stuff, always last one on the bandwagon lol,
I love seventies and eighties music and clubland. Have a good night and take care of yourselves π€ Bernadette xxxxx
Yeah 80s music is cool,
The soundtrack from the film βThe Shape of Water.β It is very beautiful and soothing. β€οΈ
Sounds good, we could do with that ATM, x
The song that was in my head this morning when I woke was βIβd like to teach the world to singβ probably haunt me all day now! π
Another song that pops up often is βBurn the house downβ by AJR. My sister and niece played it a lot when they were over from NZ last Easter so reminds me of their visit π
Ali
Maybe its a sign you should be a music teacher lol, funny how songs remind you of people.and places, Florence and the machine reminds me.of working in central London in summertime and commuting on the train
Hi Florence83, I will be showing my age with my choices of music. Let's start with my all time favourites - Led Zeppelin (actually got to see them in Bristol (UK) in 1967 ,then slowhand himself (Eric Clapton, Metallica, Iron Maiden etc etc. Think you've got the picture by now but now a fairly new group British Lion, they are a bunch of musicians who sort of mix & match (whoever is available),started by Iron Maiden guitarist. Christina
what was it like seeing led Zeppelin back then? I don't know that much of their music other than the popular ones, that's why I love Spotify you can find pretty much anything you want on there
It was fantastic as a 17 year old going on 18 after midnight. I was lucky as a little titch cos had big burly rugby players with me (or other way round) + big brother (John was 6' 5" & 21 st ,Tim was 6' 6" & 21 st) so we got right to the front, unknown to me they had brought all sorts of things to throw over me for my 18th birthday cos they carried on after midnight. John did his usual trick & unclipped my hair (had it pulled up put of way),it cascaded down to my bottom & Robert Plant suddenly stopped singing (my long hair always had that affect on males). What a way to spend your birthday - will never forget it !!
What a memory, I'm 36 so don't know much about 60s but heard they were swinging π good times I bet lol
Sadly still stuck in the 70s with my music and memories
What is your favorite song from the 70βs?
Anything by Love Affair. Rainbow Valley for 1 Did some great songs
Ah another one I haven't heard of , thank you will have a listen tonight, π
Thatβs good!ππ

I have been a fan of John Denver since I was a really young girl.ππ
Liked Don Mclean Activity 2004. Got a triple cd single still. Got American pie. vincent. . Cant remember the other 1 now it will come to me. Not much into country. Loved some Simon and Garfunkel. Bridge over troubled water. Love Elvis too. His music will never die. There are too many E.TA about doing shows. And loads still turning up to enjoy too. Brian
I also like nonCountry singers.ππ
The other Don Mclean was castles in the air. Do you live in U.S.A then Activity2004
Yes.ππ
I thought so. Because i know Country music is more popular in America. I am in the uk. Hope your keeping safe over there. 12 weeks isolation for me.1 week done. Brian
Iβm not sure how many more weeks we have to be inside here, but they keep changing the date for schools to be closed/reopening.π©
No answers here really yet. Schools been shut 1 week now. But mentioned 12 weeks shutdown. But tonight they were talking maybe 6 months before we get back to normal. So basically thats the year gone
In one state, they have stopped school for the rest of the year. Where I live, high schools are going to give laptops to students. No school yet.
Hello Activity2004. I dont think anyone really knows. See china was saying the virus was clear. But then found new cases. Not sure if this was due to people still coming back to there homelands from all around the world. Keep well. Brian
I feel.like.that with 90s and 00s, music is funny like that xx
Iβve seen the movie years ago. Nice and great music added to the movie.ππ
I am listening to lots music on you tube. Springsteen, Emmylou Harris, Talking Heads, Tom Tom Club, Elvis Costello, Bonnie Raitt, Linda Ronnstadt, and more!
This probably going to be unpopllular but Jimmy page scares me a bit
I have been listening to Take That - The Circus Live at Wembley 2009. My favourite concert! I wish I could have been there in person but at least I have it on my phone to listen to.
My.friends were takethat fans when we were younger but I never was, think I was the only one, I like them now I'm older though, weird
Yes love Mary Poppins, really like the soundtrack for the 2nd Mary Poppins, lovely β₯οΈ
I saw the original Mary Poppins.ππ
Do you know what those things are round their necks? Such a good song π
Think I'll play these while doing my cleaning,
Funny how.music puts you in a different mood when you listen to it π
Music I've been listening to lately is stereophonics kind album which has a lot.of songs about mental health like "make friends with the morning" which is about getting up in the morning and not being able.to stop to your mind racing, street with orange light is kindve about reminicisng about when you were young and things were simple, there's a band that were touring with stereophonics called wind and the wave from Texas, the singer is a mental health advocate and their albums have a mental health theme, there's a song my mind is an endless sea which is brilliant, I also came.accross kina grannis on Spotify and I love her voice so much, she has the voice of an angel β₯οΈ
That song reminds me of friends, love it β₯οΈπΆ
Song is in myy head now π
Thanks so much for the replies, was feeling very hopeless yesterday and you've cheered me up, funny how music connects people, I better get back in the real.world and do my housework, think I'm gonna listen to a bit of led Zeppelin, take care and wash your hands β₯οΈπΆπΆ
Are you on YouTube?
Just come across pulp fiction soundtrack when looking up.on YouTube, that's a good.one π
Thanks that was a treat
A friend I worked with a long time ago has a band called tribal law, haven't seen him for years but one of the best guitarists I've seen, could play the guitar with his tongue, lookup koe naiche on YouTube he's brill
Apparently stairway to heaven was written in a cottage in Wales, nice π
bet they have some interesting stories to tell,
Listening to them now while.im trying to catch up on my housework
I'm enjoying listening to them
Just saw this quote on twitter "the highest goal of music is to connect oneβs soul to their Divine Nature, not entertainment." Pythagoras I like that. I find my family and people around me think I'm a bit weird when I come out with stuff like this so it's nice to have this place where I can be free to be a bit weird lol
It looks hard to play
Yes seen that Zoonie. Remember the original too. Loved Led Zeppelin. Brian
I.dont know that song?
Hi Florence I love my mixture of music on my Spotify everything from the Beatles to Classical and Cuban music is a great medicine.
Cuban music reminds me of my mum, always good when you need a lift, happy music
