Your mind rules!

In the physically limiting world of pandemic, most of us find ourselves in a physically smaller environment. Remember, your mind can adjust. In the new setup you have enormous freedom. Put your brain to work (overseeing and controlling emotions, which are not necessarily reliable!) and recreate an interesting, wonderful world for yourselves and those others with you. You are never alone. What counts is what occurs “ between your ears.” All it takes is your decision to do it. That is the reality. Read, write, exercise, pray, prepare & consume food, talk, sleep—endless possibilities for your mind!

what counts is what occurs between your ears? seriously? That could be problematic.

You make the point: It is problematic, in that in the end it’s doing the right thing—or at least a good thing—that the mind must negotiate. Again, within our new boundaries, it is a matter of mental adjustment as much as anything. If it is still available, the book “Future Shock” by Alvin Tofler is instructive. Good luck.

Been trying to meditate and be here and now, which, of course, is all that really matters. You are right in what you say. Humans have always adjusted, right from the beginning and maybe we have been protected from reality for too long. Time to review our relationship with the mind and with nature.

Today I walked 3 miles. It was sunny, upper 60s F, a slight but persistent breeze—-great weather to be out. I saw quite a few people, all of whom appropriately did their part to maintain social distancing. If we can find a comfortable stasis within the parameters of our newly shrunken, altered routine, we can find some peace and happiness during this pandemic. Blessings to everyone.
