Hi

Well done on contacting us! That is such an important step. How old is your baby ?

This is such a common symptom of PNI and such a horrible one. Is there anything you're particularly anxious about?

Have you spoken to your doctor, health visitor or indeed anyone close to you? If you haven't please do. They can really help you recover as you don't have to feel this way. They will have heard all of this before as its common just many women don't talk about it.

Please keep talking here or also on our forum on pni.org.uk.

Thank you for replying! My baby is 6 months old now. It's something I have suffered with before the birth of my baby but never knew what it was thought it was me going mad and thought I was a monster so I was scared to talk about it. Since googling the symptoms after having my daughter it's put my mind at ease! Not rid of the anxiety though! And speaking to my sister in law as she suffers too! It tends to be when any changes around me happen! Sounds silly but my parents go away abroad quite a lot & we are really close so I get w bit anxious before they go away' when my daughter went into her own room! Etc! It's the intrusive thoughts...so scary & make me feel sick!!! Such a horrible thing to suffer!!!

Hi Daniella

I am so sorry you are suffering this and you have found us. It was a long time ago for me, about 27 years but I still remember it well. But with support, we got through and my 'baby' is soon to be 28.

It was very hard to confide in anyone then, and sadly still is for many. Which was why I started the charity and forum a few years later.

We do have a more active forum, that many use, at our main web site, where people tend to go into more detail. You can have a pseudonym there and be completely anonymous, if you wish or write under your own name. I hope you have found it??

Here is a direct link

pniorguk.proboards.com/

Of course you can continue to use this forum here as well.

Love to you

Change is s source of stress and that can trigger a 'blip' - a dip in mood and a return of horrid symptoms .

It's a cruel illness but not the real you st all. They're just horrible thoughts but in time will go x
