Hello. I have joined this evening after researching sites about postnatal depression. I just thought I would try to reach out to those who are suffering and may need someone to listen etc. I am getting of postnatal depression and nearing the completion of my medication.

Would like to let you lovely ladies know if you want to talk then I will listen... A lot of stories in the papers at the moment about sad stories with women who suffered from depression but was too late. I want to reach out to those who think they will not get through it. But you can.

Hope everyone is well!

X

Hello

Wonderful to hear that you are nearly recovered. It does give hope to other sufferers who are struggling and feel like it will never end.

How old is your little one? What were your symptomsx

Hello Pink-Rose87

Thank you for your post above, I am currently looking for counsellor who have counselled women suffering from Postnatal depression (PND). So sorry, I can not take you on as my participant.

But it is wonderful to hear you are recovering from your Postnatal depression(PND). And that you have joined to help and support other mothers who suffer from PND. It is an area which cause many mother a lot of suffering and causing depression. It has been much due to the environment and society pressure onto women these days. As a women is expected to know everything as soon as she gives birth to a child. Which is not always the case. I have suffered with PND and my mother and mother-in-law too before me. This this behaviour is then passed on to us as we become mothers, as they expect us to do the same, into today social culture. which make it confusing and harder for women these days.

I have got link below of a book if you are interested to read, it might help you understand your story and many others whom you may come across in this page or outside in your life too.
