minor surgery under local

hi all, quick question. I am booked for surgery (suspect mole, 4 cm, on upper arm) this week. Local anaesthetic. Should I use sick day rules ? They are aware that I am on pred, currently 3.5 mg/day.

Thanks.

I don't think you would need to for a local, but see how you feel after and take it easy for a bit. Let's hope it's a good outcome 🤞

I wouldn't bother in advance probably - I would be aware and have pred to hand just in case though and I would ask their advice at the time. It also very much depends on how anxious you are. My husband had a mole on his back removed and it was done before he even knew! It wasn't quite as large though.

I had a similar minor excision in December. It was very quick to do. Think I took paracetamol before and after as advised. It has healed well. Did not take any extra Prednisolone but you are on a lower amount than I was. Think I was on 7mg at the time but I did not try to taper around that time as husband also had a full shoulder replacement a few days later. I started tapering again after Christmas.
