For newer members who may not know about this: "You are not alone" - a video in 3 parts about the effects of PMR/GCA and its management.

The post in the link explains it all - but as an introduction: I first became a part of the PMRGCA charity movement 15 years ago when these videos were first issued in the form of a DVD, I invited myself to the launch in Newcastle Centre for Life and the rest, as they say, is history. But the videos are as relevant now as they were then for newly diagnosed patients.

An effect of PMR….? There’s a video that will explain. Look in FAQs.

Thanks for pointing out the link. Very good explanations and no obscuring the severity of the illness…..and the long term potential collateral damages …

I was diagnosed with GCA January 2012.. I did know a very small amount about it as my friend in Newcastle was diagnosed a few years befor myself.but I would have been at a total loss without this forum PMRpro and and other people on here have helped me so much I am forever grateful to you all. I am so pleased you stuck around.. I got rid in 2015. But then it came back in 2024 so I am still taking advice from this forum as the people on here seem to know more than the doctors..a very big thank you girls Ritter

Very informative, clear and useful summary. Perhaps include link to it in welcome letter to new members?

As stated, it's already in the FAQ - and they are mentioned in the monthly welcome letter from Fran - as well as almost daily by regulars on here, but we have discovered you can remind people as often as you like.. but it's then up to individuals to actually read the links.
