I have PMR and fingers crossed I am doing okay at the moment currently at 5 mg and quite happy. I don’t know if I’m allowed to do this, but I have a friend who is not computer literate or uses a smart phone, but perhaps I could mention the problem she’s having. She also has PMR and was down to 4 mg. Then she had very painful legs and hips and it has taken ages for anyone GP consultant et cetera to say it is probably PMR flare having tested for allsorts of other things. She has been put up to 10 mg, but still in pain, and I don’t think that is enough. all I want to know to help her is do you get very bad severe pain in the legs with PMR? Thank you

You can do - but there are a lot of other things as well that it could be. How long has she been on the higher dose? Sometimes flares are harder to control than before.

she was put up to 10 about 4 weeks ago with no change then 20mg one week ago. She had been in pain for sometime before first increase.

So she's been on 20mg for a few weeks and now is at 10mg? That really isn't typical of PMR - what does her doctor think it might be?

In that case doubt it’s PMR….think GPs need to do a bit of investigating!

I doubt it is just PMR then, her GP needs to look a bit further.
