Hi everyone, Truro based consultant rheumatologist, Mark Hughes, is running 100 miles to raise money and awareness for us in January.

Mark works with patients with PMR and GCA, and also attends our Cornish support group meetings from time to time. He’s only too aware of how valuable many patients find our support services and wants to help.

He's running in the 100 mile Arc of Attition ultramarathon taking place on 24th Jan. He's not run that far before and we really hope it goes well for him.

If you are able to support Mark with a donation – not matter how small, they all count – and a message of support for what is going to be a really challenging race.

Thank you to those who’ve already donated.

His JustGiving page link is justgiving.com/page/mark-hu...

Thank you.

Thank you so much. It makes a big difference to the runners on these races knowing that people are supporting them - and it's also a fantastic way to help raise funds for the charity too.

Thank you for highlighting Mark’s attempt at completing the Arc of Attrition, named because it is! 25 miles of undulating, coastal paths, some very close to the cliff edge & running through the night. One must finish within 9 hours! Mark drops in on our Truro support group regularly & we will be supporting him & cheering him on on the day. It really is a tough challenge!

Wow! Thank you everyone for the kind words and donations for Mark! His donation total has jumped overnight by a few hundred pounds. What amazing support.

What a brilliant bloke! Just made a small donation to take him up to his target, but let's keep on supporting him. How wonderful to have someone who really cares.
