prednisolone before blood test or not?

Good morning I have a generic full blood test today at 10.55 am should I take my prednisolone (4mg) before the blood test or after? The blood test was initiated owing to continued hot flashes and GP realised I hadn’t had bloods taken for 4 years. Thank you x

You can take it - it won't make any difference to anything except the ESR and CRP and it probably won't have time to affect them either.

The only time you wouldn't take the pred is if you are having a synacthen test for adrenal function or a basal cortisol test - though taking it in the morning just before the blood test won't make the basal cortisol result much different, it might cross react with the test but not much.

Agree with the replies already received.I doubt it would have any effect.

One doesn't stop meds for a blood test surely.
