Unsure about symptoms

Before I contact my doctor I would appreciate some advice. Presently on 9mg prednisone for 2 months, three weeks in. Not feeling well, headache, nausea, aches upper body. Thought perhaps it was fatigue so rested for two days and felt better. I sleep well and eat well but seem to be losing weight slowly. Any thoughts would be welcome.

hi

2-3 weeks in on new dose might be about right timing for a flare -if it were just aches I’d say if was that.

However add in the nausea, headaches and weight loss makes me not so sure even though a couple of days helped the fatigue.. would say a bit early for adrenals as well -although not totally unknown at that dose.

I think medical advice required -and please let us know how things go.

My immediate though on reading your post was that your adrenal funtion is wobbling - possibly just in the form of steroid withdrawal but we have had people where the struggles with adrenal insufficiency have appeared above 10mg pred.

However, unintentional weight loss is a red flag to report to your PCP and underlying nasties must be excluded.

Hope it is nothing - but always better safe than sorry.
