PMR and Grape Seed Extract

did anyone try grape seed extract as a supplement? I read somewhere that it's meant to help with the endothelium. I'm thinking of giving it a try. Just see if it helps. I'm having a flare right now and had to go up from 9mg to 12mg pred and even with that my thigh muscles are still really stiff

Never seen it mentioned on here… and there doesn’t seem to be any listed interaction with Pred , but it’s not recommended with some blood thinning drugs. See this- as as always we say check with GP and/or pharmacist

I was going to say - something rings a bell though can't imagine why if you don't remember it. But it is like all supplements and dietary measures - has anyone found anything that works yet?

Not really -and was going to say a small glass of red wine would be my preference.

But heigh ho…

No, not a small glass of red wine, a large glass is what I think you meant! I did a cheese tasting in Saturday, six cheeses and three wines, it definitely boosts one up.

Small red is fine for me -but can always manage a larger rose or sparkling…. 😊

Sparkling, now that is a thought.

And the cheese will hopefully have boosted your calcium intake! Win win! X

I have a glass of red wine at the weekend, I am sure it helps!

👍

I can’t get on with most reds -even way before GCA & Pred.

Did go through a stage on Pinot Noir’s just before Pred-but gave that up when on silly doses -and never really returned to them.. except when in champagne -and that a different story altogether 🍾

Preferably pink for me - except a red made locally around Lake Kaltern from a regional grape. Very light, a very dark pink in many ways!

Snap on the pink!

Any colour will do for me!

Yes that’s correct. That info is widely available on the internet. So far no one has mentioned trying it so I might give it a go.

There has been some to and fro about wine. The level of poly phenols from a glass of red wine appears to be about 200mg and so a 1000mg capsule of Grape Seed Extract would be about 5 times that level. Always a question about bioavailability of course.

Wish me luck
