DL. Could you send me a link to the reduction guide. I have managed to reduce gradually from 15mg to 10mg with no ill effects. I’m a little unsure how long I should stay with this level.

Hi,

My preferred option would be stay at one month at 10mg before you start tapering again.

Dear DL. Another question for you. In the past few weeks I have noticed that only the slightest knock or scratch causes blood blisters under the skin. Still taking 10mg and think things are progressing well. Slight stiffness in hands and moon face are my only outward symptoms except for this bleeding. If the skin is punctured I can soon stop the minor flow. Catching myself while gardening has been the cause. Your advice is totally appreciated. Life saver!

Unfortunately bleeding is a common side effect of Pred. Just try and keep your skin moisturised well.. many use DoubleBase or similar emollient … available at any pharmacy or online, and cover up arms/legs when gardening.

Is the stiffness in hands a new problem, or was it there pre diagnosis?

The hands were one of the original symptoms. Much better now. Should listen to my wife. Trouble is. I start off pruning and get carried away. I’ll do as I’m told in future. Thank again.
