Thanks DL and Pro for your advice re tapering back from sick day double up of 13mgs Pred (I had reached 6.5mgs and was surviving š).
I dropped to 10mgs last Thursday and since then have slightly blurred vision and a feeling of lightheadedness. Do you reckon it was too big a drop - or would it be better to drop more to reduce this side effect if that is what it is? My PMR symptoms seem relatively in abeyance.

I'd say it was possibly too big a drop all at once!!! Or was it part of the return to the previous dose? How long had you been at 13mg? But maybe you were still not recovered from whatever it was?
Iād been at 13mg for a fortnight as had double antibiotics and this was part of the return to my previous dose of 6.5mg. And indeed Iām still feeling a bit poorly. Decisions decisions!
Hmmm - if it were me I'd go back and drop in smaller steps until you feel recovered. Wonder what Snazzy will suggest ...

How long after dropping did it start? Are the symptoms there all the time?
Started almost immediately- and yes with me all the time.
Is associated with movement?
If it were me Iād go back to 10mg and if there is a rapid and marked improvement, take that as a sign that it is drop related. Then drop much more slowly as the shift is clearly too much. As to how much thatās hard to say. Iād say start 0.5mg a week and speed up if itās going ok but not too fast because youāre not going to be better yet. Be vigilant with the symptoms though.

Iāll go back to 12mg or 12.5mg and check improvement. I may need more āadrenalinā to cope with convalescence. If that works Iāll follow Snazzyās guidelines. Life eh? A bag of surprises š

Saw a lot of it until it was fairly obvious he was going to manage the 3rd set and then I went to watch local news to find out the state of the disasters!
Queens is one of the nicest places to go to. Loved working at Queens every year. So different to anywhere else.
