well as I have dropped from 40 to 30 as instructed by rheumy, was started on 40 for one week, re suspected GCA and high inflammation markers(first time in over 6 yrs), then he said drop to 30 which I have done now for 10 days, during which time have felt very strange, not sleeping well, losing balance at times, head woozy, body like lead(no pain) , waiting for MRI results hope this week, question is, was on 4 mgs previously for over 3 mos, then boom! up to 40 then quick drop to 30 after 7 days of 40, so would this big 10 mg sudden drop cause me to feel this way? last advice for him was to stay at 30 for 2 weeks, then big drop again to 20( im guessing depends on blood results, which is scheduled for this thursday) ?

I think we have responded to this in previous posts -saying that some could be due to decrease in Pred -but we are not doctors so you really need to seek medical advice from your Rheumy.
oh yes you have, thank you, however, just sharing, updating, reaching out, know you are not dr,s but have read many times, several comments, experiences, bits of advice, I am going to try contact my rheumy today, hoping he has results, and can advise on how I am feeling now
Yes it is entirely possible to experience withdrawal symptoms when decreasing your dosage of pred. My withdrawals included feeling woozy, nearly fainting when standing up from sitting/lying, headaches, loss of appetite, abdominal pain after eating, heat and exercise intolerance, and fatigue.
