Thank you so much for sending me the 5wk tapering plan, I am presently on 9mgs and hope to go down to 8mgs where I will stay for at least two months. I am also pleased you included your 7wk taper as I think that would be more sensible for me to follow at this present time. I am 7ams post op from extensive spinal canal surgery, have rotator cuff both arms , still recovering from a ruptured Achilles tendon and having balance problems. When I get down to 8mgs I will stay there for a month and will then continue your 7wk plan reducing 0.5 a month thereafter. Does this plan sound sensible to you. I have bought a book on balance excercises , walk at least 10 times a day round my large patio take my little whippet for short walks, I also have a dog walker and an amazing friend who takes her out. Sorry for rambling on, I just wanted to give you a picture of my daily routine as a guideline. Thank you, take care.x

Sounds sensible, but as we always say, approach each taper when you feel good enough to...not just because it's a certain number of weeks since the last one. If only some doctors would let us listen to our own bodies more of the time, I'm sure as patients we'd have a much smoother ride.. You have a lot to cope with, so as easy as you can with the tapering, and good luck.

I started on the 5 week tapering plan on 10th March going from 3.5 mg to 3 mg. I repeated week 4 then repeated week 5 twice as I had Covid before attempting week 1 of 3 mg to 2.5mg. I’m feeling tired but know I have to rest & will repeat any week I feel I need to. Good luck to you & remember to only go to the next week if you feel ready. x

I have decided to do the seven week taper then stay t 8mgs for at least a month, one of the hardest things for me has been pacing myself, but I think a lot of people have the same problem.

I hope you have recovered now from Covid, it must have been very difficult for you, I am fortunate that I have managed to avoid it thank goodness. Take care.x
