Mild Adrenal response?

On Saturday I was feeling cold, I mean seriously cold, shivering, feet freezing, walking around with fur slippers and thick cardigan. It was a coldish day, but this was extreme. Had no interest in anything and my stomach was a mess. Every time I went to the loo it was clearly upset.

Sunday had my breakfast and went to take my pred and realised that I had not taken them on Saturday! In 3 ½ years I have NEVER forgotten to take my pred. It is a ritual for me in the morning and my total focus. Decent breakfast, coffee, pred, and then I get on with my day.

Could this has been a mild response? Just out of interest really. I was not brilliant on Sunday, Monday slightly better but fine now.

I am on 8mg and started my first week of one day at 7 ½ mg as per my new Rheumy who wants me to reduce by 0.5 over 8 weeks.

Maybe I already know the answer now I have written this. It wasn’t terrible at all, but the coldness was extreme.

could have been -or a 24hr bug doing the rounds that happened to coincide with missing dose. Who knows.

Glad your feeling better now -and try not to forget again -easily done…😊

I don't think it was a bug. But know what you mean.

Certainly won't forget again, amazed I did in the first place.

Don’t beat yourself about your missed dose: many of us have done the same. You’re feeling better now and that’s the main thing. Well done to your new rheumy for recommending the half mg slow reduction.

Yes, he seemed nice and I was very happy with his plan. Long may it continue.

Might have been an adrenal non-response in that your adrenals couldn’t make up the lack of Pred at a moment’s notice. Or it could have been a bug; my normally ok husband had the same last week. Upset gut and could not get warm to save himself. Or it was both. I guess if it happens again after a missed dose you might get your answer, but some things aren’t worth trying just for science.

I do have gut issues with my LVV to be fair. Find I cannot eat red meat at all now. But yes, not planning on seeing if the same happened again. It was feeling so cold that was so odd. Even when I've been poorly I have never felt that cold before.

Before seeing DL's reply I was going to say exactly the same - an upset that coincided with the lack of pred which made it something you noticed very much. Can't be connected but I was perished last week - we are having a really cold spell but I don't usually dress that differently, the heating is still on (unheard of at the end of April) so I was wondering if something else was adding in.
