I’ve been becoming more and more unwell generally over the past few months. Some of this is due to continual Herpes two attacks and now taking Valaciclovir every day, also new diagnosis of further erosion of the lumbar spine at disc three as well as 4-5.
I take 11mg Preds every morning. I took it today. At about 4 pm I went into my bedroom to lie down and rest, being very tired. I looked at the pill dispenser and thought today was Thursday, so made the mistake to think I had forgotten to take the Preds this morning. I took another 11mg.
What should I do? What do I do tomorrow morning? Friday?
I have no rheumatologist or GP to speak with, I’m on my own these days.
frightened I am beginning to lose it.
Thanks for your thoughts.

The two senior GPs who have looked after me for about 11 years have retired in the past five months. In their place is a rotating number of temporary GPs along with the two junior GPs who give about five minutes tel consultation. I’ve managed to get one face to face last month but that was 15 minutes long. Still, they are trying their very best. They have helped me get the mri of my spine and a good consultation with a spine consultant in the private sector, pd for by the NHS. They p sent me to the eye hospital for my vision problems and since then the various tests. But none of them are at ease discussing the PMR.
I've done the same once or twice and forgotten them altogether. I'm still alive! Stressing yourself over it is probably worse for you than making the mistake.
I am so glad I asked this forum - I woke this morning feeling so much better! no tears, no grinding aches. I just feel like my once usual self.
Does this mean I need to be taking more preds? I am trying not to continue the upward trend of taking more preds over time because I have osteoporosis.
So I took 10 this morning (instead of usual 11) and I guess will continue with 11 tomorrow. Thank you all for repsonding to me yesterday. I am so grateful for this group.
It was a lot more since it was double a fairish dose. But if you would feel better with a mg or 2 more, seriously consider it - quality of life is the primary aim, or should be.
