a little drama

I have just reduced to 5mg. And like many others my energy is crashing. So a bit of a roller coaster and trying to plan things so that I don’t have too much excitement all at once!

Wednesday my husband was diagnosed with detached retina, yesterday was an hour and a half trip to eye hospital for his surgery. A verrry long day.

I know we grumble about health care, but goodness me, he had the best, prompt attention. Amazing NHS . He has to lie face down 50mins in the hour for a week, so more load on me.

Any tips gratefully received.

Have you family members or friends close by? Ask for help.

And to be honest - if the 5mg feels not enough, add a bit for the week so it is enough. I had to go up quite a lot but it all went on a lot longer than a week and there was no-one to help, family in a different country and Covid lockdowns.

Dust is very patient, it always waits, so don't worry about the non-essentials, And be honest about what is non-essential!!!

Thanks I have put dose back up. No family near, but helpful friends. One has taken him to hospital this morning. Ordered online shop.

Don’t care about dust, tbh, least of my worries

How does going to hospital fit with 50 out of 60mins in the hour lying face down????

I know…. He’s managing car journeys by keeping his head horizontal to the floor.

Hopefully there won’t be more. He’s well and truly grounded.

believe me, a 6’4 guy being a passenger holding that position, creates a great deal of grump😀

He'd have been fine with me! Rear seat of a California would have been perfect!!!!

Commiserations to you and your husband. Mine had that 4 years ago and his treatment was superb. He also had to "position" for a week or so! They saved his sight for which we will be forever grateful.

Tip: Soft diet that he can slurp down quickly in 10 minutes! Soups, pudds, yoghurt, smoothies, porridge etc.

Take as good care of yourself as you can. x

Sounds very challenging but hopefully things will get better soon. Maybe in the meantime there’s someone in your life who could come to your house for a couple of hours a day a few times a week to help out?

I feel for you. My husband recently had knee replacement surgery. I did the minimum for several weeks. Made the bed, showered and feed him. Everything else had to wait. Hopefully you have friends who could go and do your grocery shopping. Take care of yourself and rest when he rests.😴
