Re Liver function

Hi all

Just received blood test results and my ALT liver function is out of range. Any thoughts from anyone? Could this be steroid related?

I hope your doctor will check for other things and not assume it is the PMR.

ALT can be raised in NAFLD (non-alcoholic fatty liver disease) and pred is a risk factor for that, But the GP should do various tests as there are other things that can cause it.

Hi Ana I had same problem but found out it was all to do with breaking my collor bone x

If it hasnt been up before, ? best repeated first just in case its an aberrant result.

Thanks for that. Looking back at previous results it was slightly raised before so probably accurate. The econsult appointment was postponed until the 23rd. Not pleased. Will try again tomorrow morning.

Yes, you can then know of its on the way up or just trotting along slightly outside the normal range.
