Hi everyone, I have seen lots of advertisements for Revitive ( you put your feet on it and it sends pulses through your legs ) supposed to help with leg pain, arthritic knees, swollen ankles.
They are expensive - so just wondered if anyone has one ? or used one ?

Discussed a few months ago when somebody was given one - but can’t find it in the related posts… think the general consensus of opinion was ‘save your money’ … but I guess it’s one of those things you won’t know until you try.
I just looked at one and it seems they send electrical pulses and a bit like a TENS machine and your muscles contract involuntarily. So I can see the calf muscle contraction would act like a pump for circulation. If so, why not just do that calf pump exercise, sitting or standing? If you have poor veins or arteries, I don’t know how they magically get better. No idea how arthritic knees will be helped either. I’m hoping someone can tell us the actual mechanism beyond calf muscle contraction that is worth a few £100’s. Personally I’d rather spend the money on some good advice to tailor make an exercise program that will take into consideration the whole of my feet, legs hips etc because it isn’t as easy as exercising small bits in isolation.
Seems legit, but just as TENS doesn't solve all problems, this may not be the answer for everyone. I have a vibration plate (much cheaper) that stimulates my feet, legs, and in fact, my whole body. I always feel better after using it, and I believe it helped blood flow to my achilles tendinitis, which is almost gone now.
I have a power plate recommended to me by the surgeon who did my REMS scan for osteoporosis. Don't know anything about Revitive though other than I've worked with Eamonn 😜
The vibration power plates are totally different from Revitive - they are vibration, Revitive is electrical muscle stimulation. And contraindicated in a lot of cases!
CARROT SHARPENER?????? I do asparagus in the microwave or in the oven. Don't like popcorn. Rather have the pice of fruit or veg than juice it. And what's the matter with knives?
I did wonder about the airfryer going the same way - but it is absolutely brilliant!
I think I realised THAT - but the question remains: WHY? Or is it not so much the sharpening as the production of the peelings for decorative purposes?
Ha ha makes me feel a lot better my grand kids used to call me gadget gran until I realised it took more time to get the things out set them up then clean them after than it did to do the job by hand. 🙃
I have an egg slicer that my grandma gave me from her kitchen , it must be 80 years old at least. Some of these gadgets are useful with stiff immobile hands 😃
Yes some are for sure -I have gadget for opening jars -but lots are just moneymakers and about as useful and long lasting as a chocolate poker!
A friend of my son’s once said many moons ago when he was a teenager about the free magazines that were in every weekend paper -“full of stuff you don’t need and at a price you can’t afford.”..
I think my best gadgets are the thing for opening jars, I have tried several in the past, but now have one that actually works and that thing that you can use to prick your raw egg before you boil it to stop it breaking. The Telegraph had a huge article today on how to boil an egg and never mentioned it, called the Eierpiekser in German.
Yes, some are! I have a can opener shaped like a big plastic hook for opening ring pull cans. It’s great! I used to be forever breaking off the rings on sardine cans.
Ah well then, in that case maybe you need one! My gadget actually spiralized the whole apple. I used it once and decided it took up too much bench space in my tiny kitchen.
Read negative reports about Revitive and things like that on the RA site. Bought hand held massage stick for ruptured leg muscle….. physio told me I’d aggravated the injury using it. Gentle swimming helped my severe leg injury and does not aggravate my RA so I stick with that and for pain/joint comfort I use salt heat gel pads but hot water bottle works just as well .
