We are really pleased to launch a campaign to raise awareness of PMR and some of the 'myths' that surround it. We've worked with Dr Sarah Mackie and a group of PMRGCAuk members and PMR patients to uncover four common PMR misunderstandings that can cause patients concern or delay their diagnosis. Over the next eight weeks, we will share them across social media.
But we need your help! It's not enough to put this information here on our HealthUnlocked forum, on our Facebook page or website - we need people to share the message too.
If every one of our active forum members (and there are nearly 5,000) shared this information, more people might be helped to get a diagnosis or to understand their condition better.
Look out for the first myth buster on 14th August and then use Facebook or Twitter to spread the message. If you're not on other social media, print off the information and share with your doctor or email a friend.
We hope you will be part of our campaign to raise awareness.

I don't do Facebook or Instagram but I will certainly pass on that information as it comes through to my Practice GP's and nurses and anyone else I think appropriate.
I’ve already shared on Fb to spread the word and will ask all my friends to do the same. I also wrote an article for my parish mag and will now do a follow up for next month.
I don't do social media either but can ask others who do to post. Just to check, do we wait for whatever you are sending on 14th August? Happy to spread the word
Dr Mark Porter in the Times on Tuesday has a huge following, as does Drs Poonan, Zand, Oscar and Raj on BBC Morning Live so I am happy to forward things to them as you send them Fran. I am dont do social media, but am in University of the Third Age which has a journal called Age Matters. Age Concern Uk is also a useful organisation. I think when the stats are published on sufferers and how long they have been on steroids, it will have a big impact. Thanks for all you do for us.
Talk about “thick as….”!!! I’ve just looked to follow you on FB so I can get the updates on this (great idea!!) and only just realised the title of the group means PMR GCA U.K.!! Bye ways I saw it, I thought it was based in Auckland NZ!!!! 🙄😂😂
