hi, I have recently had 2 cataract ops and since not wearing my glasses so much I have noticed my eyes look puffy and swollen. Does abybody have any thoughts on how I can improve their look.

Thanks

Have you had a look at the related posts now they have appeared after posting?

yes thanks I did. Couldn’t find anything on FAQs but knew things would come up after posting. Been trying cool compress and now trying warm. I know it is not blepharitis but I am sure it is water retention. I don’t add salt to food and no processed food

Do you think they are worse than before surgery or just more noticeable without specs?

I said recently there are 3 tucks I'd have done if they weren't surgery (if you see what I mean!): boobs, belly and eyebags!!!!!

Same three tucks for me!....since lowering from 5mg, eye bags much worse, like I haven't slept for weeks.....huge tummy, and boobs, but don't moan about them because many women losing them every day.....but how we feel is more important I tell myself....

not sure but hubby has only recently commented so maybe more noticeable now I haven’t been wearing specs, I am able to get new ones soon so maybe that will hide them!

obviously you will ensure all is well with your Opthalmologist. You could try a cooling gel eye mask or similar. There are a lot of products for puffy eyes.

I saw my opthamologist 2 weeks ago and she had no concerns and if it had been blepharitis she wouldn’t have done the cataract op. But thanks. Confused now whether to use cooling mask or warm compress.

It is annoying to have this symptom so long after the op. I hope you find a solution.

not sure if I had the puffy eyes before the ops although my husband didn’t seem to notice it until after the first op in February. I have only just started to try to lessen the first eye as being careful with the eye that has just been done

The internet seems to opt for cool.

I think you should check with optician

I had the same problem after cataract surgery. I’m sure it’s because they weren’t noticeable when wearing glasses. And of course when I took them off couldn’t see very well anyway! Less noticeable when I have makeup on!

Two slices of cucumber over the eyes for 10 minutes and a lie down always used to be the old fashioned remedy for puffy eyes. Are you drinking enough water?
