I wrote a couple of weeks ago that I'd been hit with a second round of PMR just over a year of arriving at zero pred.Doc did huge panel of bloods all normal 🤷🏼‍♀️. But I did have the classic PMR symptoms neck, shoulders, arms couldn't get up out of bed, raise arms above shoulders etc.

Doc gave me a course of 12.5 mg pred for 2 weeks. Cleared the pain in 4 hours and all been well since.

She called yesterday as promised.

Result is

She's given me a repeat prescription for 5 and 1mg pred.

Discussed reducing. I said I wanted to go down slowly and pay attention to any overshooting necessary amount to keep pain away.

She agreed with all that. Wants me to try and get down to 10 mg. I said I'd like to do it slowly. All fine with her.

All in all a very good outcome I feel.

As it should be - nice and reasonable. And all the best for this taper. But you have a big advantage now - you know what's what!

Oh, yes I'm smiling, mostly! Pred makes me feel like superwoman! I have to remind myself that the pred is only taking the pain away and not its cause, so must take it easy 🥰
