Blood tests

Hi, hope everyone is as well as can be.

I had some bloods done this week and to my surprise, my CRP had reduced quite a bit but ESR still high but not as high as it once was. My question is, do the blood markers match the amount of pain and stiffness? I was surprised by these results as my pain etc is just as bad as it’s always been, give or take. I’m not on any treatment for my PMR. Thanks.

No, not really. Some people find they rise with a flare but others don't and certainly at diagnosis someone can be almost immobile and have fairly low or even normal markers while someone's marker may be very high bit the symptoms less bad.

You say you aren't on any treatment - but are you/they sure it is the PMR we talk about?

Are you saying you are not taking steroids? Why were they checking your CRP and ESR?
