At last I'm tapering again, in week 3 of DLs slow taper, after going back to 20mg from 10mg after Hubby passed away on Feb 1st. 3and a half years of PMR, dare I be pre_emptive and say, so far so good, holding my breath, last 12 months this far in I've been in a state, headaches, debilitating tiredness, leg aches(thighs in particular) am really hopeful I've turned a corner! Couldn't have done it without the support and help from the wonderful people on this forum. I've never posted very much, because my life was so busy with hospital visits, and supporting and caring for my husband of 51 years . Hopefully my yo yoing is over, at least my new Rheumy wants to know if I have any problems and wants to see me every 3 months. I'm living in hope...... looking forward to the coronation on Saturday.

’So far so good’ is promising 🙂. You have done incredibly well to get to where you are today after the stresses and strains of recent times. An added bonus is what appears to be a caring rheumatologist. I wish you all the best going forward with a little reminder to pace yourself - slow and steady wins the race! 💐

Thank you 123go, it has been a rough 8 years and more particularly the past 2 years, my whole world turned upside down. Thankfully I have 3 wonderful children and very close and caring friends. And now a little companion who is so cute. We always had dogs on the farm, the huntaway cattle dogs who were pets(not meant to be, but such loved members of our family) and our little foxies which we bred. I'll be very careful not to overdo the exercise although I've been back gardening, not too much, but can't live without flowers. All the best to you too, everyone on this forum has their health problems, I'm really lucky mine aren't as bad as some!. Janis

To love and to be loved is a precious commodity to be cherished and is a blessing. I’m pleased to hear that this plays a part in your life and includes the four-legged friends who are such a comfort.

I, too, love flowers and try to get colour into our very small garden (the hosepipe is an added feature 😉).

Some garden colour last summer.

Hi,

Lovely to hear from you, so pleased things are settling down for you after a very turbulent year or so, long may it continue..

Won’t elaborate on hubby’s passing on open forum as we have spoken, but be aware that you may still have difficult days.

Good to hear about new Rheumy.

Best wishes, and take care 🌹

Thanks Sue yes I dont want to jump ahead of myself, just so thankful that I'm feing better. Last week I bought a little cavoodle , I've called her Meg, she is such a little sweetheart, and such good company. All the grandchildren love her too. I'll try and send a photo, she is black with white on her chest and back paws. Such good company and can't wait for her to have all vaccinations so I can walk her. Dearittle pet she is. Hope you are OK. Janis

Thanks Sue, I'll ask the vet about that. How do I attach a photo? I'm a bit useless!

So sorry about your husband - but I can say that 18 months on, things do improve but you are early days yet. The relief from being a carer is immense but then other things appear - some good and some less so but they poke the buttons. Last week I finally got my widow's pension relating to OH's German pension - just as well I wasn't in desperate need of the income as some will be!

Good to hear from you PMR pro, yes things take a while to get sorted, although I've been lucky, everything to do with our property and bank accounts was in our joint names, so saved a lot of hassle. Hope you are OK, this journey is an up and down experience that's for sure. Thank God for this forum, one doesn't feel quite so alone. Janis
