Intermittent fasting

Currently, I take a Lanzoprazole at least 30 minutes before eating breakfast, & then taking my Prednisolone. I’ve been looking into the intermittent fasting way of eating which usually suggests skipping breakfast. My question is, as I’m taking the Lanzoprazole , do I need food before taking the steroids? Thanks in advance.

The timing for intermittent fasting can be varied and it is said that eating in the early part of the day is better than eating in the evening! Are you very Spanish and eat in the late evening?

However - I think even with lansoprazole I would take my pred together with a spoonful or two of plain unsweetened yoghurt, Even with no acid around, the pred itself could irritate the lining of the stomach.

I actually feel pretty well fasting. I take coated Pred.

hello there! I also take Lansoprazole 30 mins before breakfast and Prednisolone after breakfast. I think the answer for me (as explained by the GP) is that yes, both the Lansoprazole and the (some) food are there to avoid any unwanted damage to the gut lining.
