Hi, morning everyone. Just wondered if anyone has experienced bruising but only in a particular place? I have been getting quite bad bruising to both knees, occasionally around other areas on legs but mainly just knees. I haven’t bumped or fallen so wondering is this prednisone or would I have bruises elsewhere? I’m on 4mg of prednisone now. Any thoughts? Have. GP appointment later just in case but wanted your opinions before going.

bruising but only around knees
Think of everything you do throughout a day. I had bruising on the side of my knee and side of my legs for months. I eventually worked out it was due to crossing my legs when sitting. When I stopped the bruising faded. I hope you find the answers you seek....
My specific place was the front and side of my shins just above my ankles! Some I know was touching the second step of the step stool in the kitchen when getting something out of a cupboard - I am slightly vertically challenged - or if leaning into the car to get something out. I suspect crossing my legs at the ankles didn't help! But it had improved by 10mg pred and isn't a problem now at 8mg - everyone is different though.
Thanks, it probably is something I’m doing every day without noticing . In fact I’ve only been thinking about bumping into things (I’m so accident prone!) but maybe it’s something I do while doing homework or driving. I’ll look out for anything affecting knees, thanks again
yes, you are not the only one, I found I would wake up with bruises on my knees. They disappeared as I slowly , very slowly, tapered. Now at 1.75mgs, and my official 2 year anniversary, feeling fine, thank you forum, I couldn’t manage without you.
