Fatigue is all part and parcel of any autoimmune disease, this link might give some tips on how to cope with it -

but depending on what dose you are on, then it could be your adrenals stuttering into life - see this -

If we did - we'd probably be millionaires! Fatigue is an integral part of autoimmune disease and management of that is part of the package I fear. It is all about pacing and resting, knowing your limits and not exceeding them. DL has given you useful links.

I don't have any other answers other than protect your sleep as far as possible and dif you can have an afternoon nap, then do.

Then just wait and hope for sunnier days.🌝

Unfortunately, finding the balance between getting your activity level right to reduce the Fatigue , but not so high that in brings on a flare can feel like a full time job.Fatigue breeds Fatigue , so keeping a good sleep routine , limiting naps to one a day to an hour or less. and doing a little activity like a stroll or some gentle stretches each hour your are awake will eventually allow you to break through the Fatigue barrier.

At first , just the tiniest movement will feel like walking painfully through wet cement that's the Fatigue trying to keep it's nasty grip on you. But , as each little activity improves , you add just a few more minutes or steps until you improve your energy and activity level. Getting some fresh air and sunlight , even by a window in the morning and using breathing techniques through the day can improve winter symptoms and low oxygen levels which can effect circulation and brain function increasing the difficulty in improving the effects of Fatigue.

But Fatigue also requires good pacing and activity balance. You can't continue outside your comfort zone trying to do all you would normally do , even at a slower pace because that will bring on a flare or make the Fatigue worse. So do activity but take half hourly rests or do jobs slower with breaks. If you are in a job where you sit a lot , it's all mental work , or you just don't feel up to moving too much taking a break from a desk or chair and moving about is as important.

Often doing some small mental activities can help as a first step if the Fatigue is very severe and zapping you of motivation or thinking skills. Doing some puzzles , doodling , looking through old photos , and having an quick chat to someone on the phone ( not just texting) can all help boost your mental energy and help motivate you to try something more physical.

It's also worth looking at your diet and hydration and getting a few blood tests too , just in case these are part of the root cause.

Reduce processed sugar and simple , or " white" carbs to occasional treats as swinging sugar levels make Fatigue worse and using steroids causes insulin resistance.

Eliminate artificial sweeteners and flavourings altogether if you can.

Drink the recommended amount of water each day as chronic illness and inflammation causes internal dehydration, even if you don't feel thirsty. Body dehydration slows down how well our systems function which increase fatigue.

Get some standard blood tests done to make sure you aren't deficient in certain vital nutrients which cause Fatigue.

These include Full blood Count , Vitamin B 12 , Vitamin D , Folates, Iron/Ferritin.

These can cause changes in metabolic and neurological function , various types of anaemia , muscle weakness and pain and fatigue.

You can request these especially if you have a chronic illness or take medication which can affect your absorption of nutrients like steroids or PPIs.

It is good to have a baseline of results to work from to help improve your diet choices or make decisions about taking supplements, which are often necessary even if you have a good diet.

Get a copy of your results.

If your results are low / normal or borderline you will be told by a GP that all is fine , but low levels will still need addressing as the symptoms of Fatigue are made worse by them even if you aren't deficient yet.

Hope it improves soon , Bee

I started at 15 MG. Almost a year ago. At Christmas I was down to 2MG but got stomach flu and had a flareup. I managed to contain symptoms at 4MG and it’s now down to 3MG. What I have found as help myself is taking B12 supplement. It’s a water soluble so difficult to OD on it. It also took nearly a week to have a good effect on me. I’ve still napping in the afternoons. I’ve stopped for a sleep early in the evenings on the sofa. You also need to make sure you’re having a proper diet with plenty of iron etc .
