Or you could just ask the GP to add basal cortisol to a routine monitoring blood test you are having anyway ...
Though if it were made a routine part of monitoring patients under 5mg pred I would certainly support it.
That would suit me very nicely when the time comes, especially if it can be used during the taper process. After seven years and still on 6.5 mg I am facing a long slow journey to the level when the ACTH test is usually done and it would be helpful to know if the adrenal glands were firing back to life.
