Suspected GC A, pain worse

If it is getting worse I'd try to call to speak to any Rheumatologist over the weekend to get them to look up your results and give you advice.I know , it's the weekend , and New Year , but calling main reception area in your hospital from 8am and explaining that you are getting worse and have suspected GCA , need your scan results , and a Rheumy to advise you on dose as your eyesight could be lost without treatment then they should contact whichever Rheumy is on call tomorrow to help you.
If you are getting no response or do not get passed to a Rheumy I would say you may be better going in to hospital out of hours or A and E to get the right specialists advice and help .
If it is GCA we couldn't say the best dose here as it could be high , and an inappropriate dose level for us to suggest. If it isn't GCA , but something else , you could not be sure whether increasing the steroid more without knowing the diagnosis could cause more harm than good.
Hope you get some help very soon
