I recall reading about this before but sorry I can’t find the post . I am off to Canada tomorrow from the UK to see my daughter for Christmas and not sure what to do about pred timing . I usually take around 8am GMT. l am currently on 6.5 mg. Do I need to try and stick to that ( 1am Alberta time!) or do I change it so it’s the morning in Canada too ? We are supposed to be skiing too - something I have done my whole life but not since I’ve had PMR so not sure how that’s going to work !! I think I have a flare brewing as I am getting stiff again across my shoulders and my thighs so not sure if I should increase a little but I don’t like the wiped out feeling I get when I reduce again . Any advice appreciated as always and Happy Christmas you amazing bunch of humans!

Take usual dose on day of travel - when on plane put your watch (and mind) on time of destination.
As for flight, take tablets as usual flying day, and stick to your normal times - if necessary take an extra dose, or half a dose if the period between doses will be more than 24hrs.
If you need, ask for special assistance at airports, the cabin crew will also be aware so will be a bit more attentive - makes life so much easier, and take your medication, copy of prescription and anything else relevant in your hand luggage. Don’t do too much for a couple of days after flight, but most of all enjoy yourself!
And if you’ve got a flare brewing you need to stamp on it pronto….or you'll ruin time away..
Makes perfect sense thank you and useful to read the connected posts too. We are supposed to be skiing day 1 so that will be interesting…might have to give myself a talking to about that !
I do think you may have to give yourself a talking to about the skiing!!! I skied for some years after PMR arrived, both in the 5 years without pred and later on pred. However - while the hip action of skiing was a magical hip girdle loosener and after a morning skiing I could walk properly, I really could not ski like before, I had to start with short and sweet and build up very gradually before I could ski all morning as I did before. I could - I live here, I had an annual ticket and went out 3 days a week so didn't have the pressure to get value for money out of my week. I found multiple short runs possible where a single long run of the same distance wasn't on. I needed the rest on the lift! And once I made the mistake of thinking I felt great, just one more run and then I'd go home. About a few hundred yards from the lift at the bottom I hit a proverbial brick wall and had to sit down for 20 mins to recover enough to get to the lift. I was lucky, it wasn't far - but I couldn't have completed one of the longer runs to get home. It is embarrassing when you have to be rescued!
Hope it isn't too cold - that and sustaining position on longer traverses were the two hardest things I found when skiing with PMR! Where are you going?
Thanks so much - we are in Banff for 17 days to see my daughter so no pressure to ski every day ( it’s currently -27!!) and the family have been told to let me slope off . I will let you know how I get on ….all a learning curve in my new PMR world !
I went to Canada in February, as far as I remember I just took my tablets when I woke up as usual, I was in Nova Scotia so a 4 hour time difference, I was away for a week - no apparent ill effects
As for the skiing, that I didn’t do, but tbh I would if the opportunity was there, just would take it a lot easier than I used to and enjoy the easy runs and more stops for hot chocolate or vin chaud
