I had successfully managed to come down from 6 to 5.5, then on Wednesday I helped set up and clear away a children’s party, and attended a dinner at night.
I’ve been in a lot of pain yesterday and today, mainly lower back and hips, problem is, I have spinal stenosis and three herniated disc’s, so I’m never quite sure where the pain’s coming from.
Should I go back to six and maybe stay there if it’s working until the spring.?
Any ideas please

It is possible it is just over-use of your back and it might improve. But better safe than sorry! 1/2mg extra until the NY isn't much in the great scheme of things!
Have you tried painkillers and a hot water bottle?
if & only if you’re willing to say, may I ask what strong nerve painkillers you are taking, please…after looking after a young dog (whom we love dearly) for a week, out each day in temperatures below freezing, walking up & down hills, my sciatica has worsened, my shoulders have a trapped nerve (? too much ball throwing!) & my OA is off the scale, & feet & hands swollen etc etc etc! My Dr is phoning next week to discuss painkillers, but I’m already on Tramadol…! I will Google, too, but I’d be interested to know what you’re taking, if possible, please? Plus much work to get rid of rats out of outbuilding, putting metal plates over holes etc etc…& much leaf clearance as our yearly hedge cutter & leaf assistance was sick this week (waited 2 months): hopefully the window guy will come Monday, bedroom windows broken lead to frozen nights…& frozen shoulders!! A shame …but thanks for letting me know, I’ve tried Pregabalin & Gabapentin but the side effects were too bad to be able to continue. Hope it works well for you, it’s got a good reputation! S x
