Evening All,Just to fill you in a wee bit before asking my question. I am currently using the 7 week DSNS taper from 7mg to 6.5mg pred. Going from 8mg to 7.5mg and on to 7mg was very slow but I took my time. I'm glad to say the PMR is quire good at present, few tweeks occasionally but really good.
My question is in relation to my OA. Have it in a number of places but am going to get steroid injections into my right foot tomorrow week to see if it helps my mobility some. Hoping so!
Do I need to adjust my current dose of Pred before I go to the radiologist? Just wondering if the extra steroid will effect my PMR? Or will I just continue the taper as is? On week one now of the 7 week taper. Not sure what's best to do? Any thoughts please.
Thanks for all the super advice on this site. It's my daily read π

It shouldn't make any difference and no, don't increase the oral pred.
There is some leakage of the steroid from the joint injection into the surrounding tissues so some does get into the bloodstream but it doesn't last long and isn't usually a lot. Though it has been known for someone to be diagnosed with PMR after a joint injection sorted their aches and pains for a while!
Yes, when I had injections for trochanteric bursitis, they eased all of my pmr aches and pains! Sadly, the effects didn't last long enough for me, but I had 6 weeks of feeling much better π
