Night pain that jumps around.

My voice dropped at least two octaves on Monday which, for me, generally means a cold. However no runny nose, so far, but chest a little tight and voice still in the Barry White region. I have been extremely lucky with my PMR journey as I haven't suffered much pain since getting it under control initially - 25mg April 21 now down to 6mg for the past four weeks and was due to go down to 5.5mg at the weekend - until now that is. Last night, middle of the night of course, started experiencing PMR type pain but it seemed to be jumping about, from shoulders to back of knees and lower back, but not all at the same time. As it was 3.30 in the morning, I took 5mg of pred which seemed to settle things down and this morning, 8 am, felt sort of ok but, of course, tired. Just in case the virus, which I undoubtedly have, is percolating a flare, I'm minded to take an extra 5mg for a few days but would be grateful for any other suggestions.

I think I would do sick day rules, my Rheumatologist is all for it. Have you done a Covid test? It sounds a bit like it.

Yes, so far, I have done two tests, both negative.

My daughter had 3 negatives - followed by a negative from the same batch and a positive from another batch of tests taken at the same time!!!

Yes, I remembered you mentioning this before, so I have sent out for a new batch.

I’d say, pain that moves about is usually what I call ill pain. In the night of course there are the usual inflammatory substances floating about for anyone and no distraction. I was always a see how I went kind of person when I was on low levels of Pred, but sick day rules is the advice usually given. I know so many now for whom the Covid test took a few days to come positive and also those who were ‘immersed’ in Covid positive people, had symptoms but tested negative.
