hi it been rollercoaster for me I had PMR since March hospital put me on steroids 15mg work really good in July had blood test come back that I had sleep TB could not get my head round all this in oct started medication for 3 months just before this I type it down my steroids to 7mg 4 weeks in to my medication for Tb I got so much pain in my shoulders arms buttocks feeling was like my muscles was been crushed spoke to rheumatologist he’s said medication Tb will make steroids very weak while I’m on the meditation for TB so hospital agreed for me to go back up to 15mg till I finish medication for Tb

need to ask I have to take medication for Tb on empty stomach so what be best time to take my steroids for my PMR

If you take TB tablets before first meal of the day -you can take Pred with or after it.

can you explain what is sleep TB? Not familiar with that term. Thanks

I assumed latent TB - and if you google sleeping TB the inks that come up are for latent TB and the NHS also calls it sleeping TB

TB Bacteria can sleep in your Body for years the risk is that Latent TB can become Active and make you I’ll and infectious to other people

My father picked up TB in the hospital after his second lung surgery. Came home in medication and other infections which eventually took his life after two years at the age of 64. He hated the medicine.

my rheumatologist sent me for blood test he’s was one had found I had sleeping Tb so he referred me to TB clinic medication give lost of side-effects

I’m sure he did the test so if you needed a biologic medication you could have it if you didn’t have TB. I had the test and I’m free of any kind of TB. Good thing you get it treated. Sorry it’s no fun though.
