I was diagnosed in May of 2019 with PRM. I’ve been taking prednisone under rheumatologist care with MTX injection weekly, on and off a few times for the past three and a half years. I had my last flare in January 2022, got under control with 10MG daily prednisone with .6ml MTX/week. In June I had a TKA revision so went off MTX. I have done well all year tapering down to 1 mg in August with no PMR symptoms.

September PMR symptoms returned. Tried going back to 2, then 3, then 4, finally after about two weeks I clobbered it with three days at 12/10/8. Symptoms resolved and I started at 5mg/ day. Good for about a week, then shoulder and hip pain creep back in making sleeping very difficult.

this week I again did the 12/10/8 and like magic pain is gone.

it’s been almost 3.5 years, my blood work is normal most of the time. Perhaps go back on the MTX? I was so hoping the PMR was done, but it looks like it’s here to stay. Sorry to ramble on.

It really is something you need to discuss with your Rheumatologist - you can’t stop then restart without a Consultant input.

You said your dose is 0.6ml but what mg dose is that?

I’m on 25mg MTX which is 0.5ml - it is always referred to in mg

Yes - I'm confused by that too.

Maybe a Typo? But the next strength is 30mg - so l presume that would be 0.6ml?

Dunno - can't cope with anything in volumes without the dose/ml attached!!!
