I have Graves Disease ( thyroid) since the 80’s. PMR in 2016 and GCA since 2019 approx. Autoimmune diseases like company.

I have psoriasis which is autoimmune attack of skin cells. I have had it since I was 9. I really thought I was getting psoriatic arthritis. But it was PMR.

I believe it is quite common to experience more than one type of autoimmune disease. I have had a handful. Sarcoidosis in my late teens; Hashimoto's thyroid in my 30s; and PMR in my 60s. In between I have also had a number of conditions thought likely to originate with an autoimmune inflammatory process - eg. marginal keratitis, episodic knee swelling & pain.

And it seems to run in families. My mother had PMR, my daughter has had Graves thyroid and a nephew has autoimmune liver disease. There'll be a Nobel prize for the person who discovers a solution to autoimmune disorders.....

Chronic idiopathic urticaria for a year about 12 years ago. I also have lichen sclerosus but I dont know if that's an autoimmune thing.

They don't really know what causes it but all the evidence points to it being a/i

Hi David

Yes I have had an overactive thyroid on two occasions which have thankfully gone into remission after a course of medication.

Yes, I have had Psoriasis, I am a Coeliac and had my colon removed in 2004 because of life threatening Ulcerative Colitis which indeed involve bowel cancer at the time. My daughter has inherited Coeliac Disease and my son suffers from Ulcerative Colitis. 🤔

I have and had for 30yrs Psoriasis Pustular. This gives you blisters on your hands and feet! Luckily mainly on my feet! It was manageable with topical steroids and I became quite fond of it as it was a sort of weathervane for stress!! It has almost disappeared with the Pred. Psoriasis runs in the family and one of the first things I was tested for when I got to a rheumatologist was Psoriasis Arthritis.

I have multiple sclerosis, diagnosed almost 50 years ago, and fibromuscular dysplasia (although I am not sure if FMD is autoimmune). I was diagnosed with giant cell arteritis year ago.

proctitis years ago, rosacea, now PMR. Daughter has Graves disease and Dad had Parkinsons as did his mother before him. Think Parkinsons is beginning to be thought of as AI.
