Oh no! Big hugs xxx Hope someone helps you sort this out soon.
Describe the lumps, Ronzy: are they sore? are they clustered together like a rash? You say they are all over the place: arms? legs? chest.....?
As they are sore I'd try to get an appointment with your GP (good luck with that). Otherwise, the pharmacist at your nearest chemist may advise. Keep those fingers off in the meantime. I hope you'll soon be ok.
Ah! I thought the lumps were something new. Thank you for explaining.
I had a spate of developing lipomas (spelling?). Fatty tissue lumps. Over the last few years they have mostly gone, but one near the shoulder has spread. No idea if there is a link with steroids/pmr or just the body wondering what to throw next.
Ah, lipomas. They're pretty harmless, though can be annoying. I believe you can have them removed, if you like. Have no idea where they come from.
"There are numerous documented cases in the literature associating long-term corticosteroid use with the development of numerous lipomas, most frequently occurring in an axial distribution—spinal epidural, retro-orbital, and mediastinal."
Now I think I get it, Ronzy. If it’s lipomas you have (fatty tissue lumps) they can certainly be removed. I had this done years ago, the doc said the lump wasn’t dangerous, but it was uncomfortable, so I had it removed under light sedation.
Hope you get sorted soon 😊
