I had my 6th Covid jab last Friday. On the following Monday I was having a blood test and the phlebotomist asked me if I wanted my flu jab. I hadn’t wanted them both at the same time but was confident that after 3 days I wasn’t flaring so had the flu jab. I have had no problems at all.
You are so right. I am going to ask for shingles jab when this covid is sorted. Been on methotrexate a long time so I try not to have any too close. I think I need the non live shingles vaccine.
I think if we could all meet up once a month and talk and laugh and cry and talk and laugh, oh and definitely a cuppa and cake, it would help everyone.
Of course we would have to teleport you over for the day.🤣. Jen
I hope You would be in charge of the meet up I have suggested to pmrpro. I think your experience of army life and Viking warrior skills would be needed to quell the masses……….
I have tried to book one but the nearest at the moment is five miles away so will have to get a taxi if I can’t get one nearer. I asked at local chemists but they are not getting many.
Did a stupid thing last night. Took two paracetamols as usual when I went to bed, then an hour later legs were aching so I thought oh I haven’t had my para cetamols!!! So, took two. The moment I swolowed them I realised what I had done…… Taken four within an hour.
I rang 111 and they put my mind at rest. Lesson learnt 😳
I won’t have next methotrexate and hopefully sort it all next week. Thanks Jen
My rheumatology nurse said to get the covid booster, then skip my methotrexate shots for 2 weeks, then get the flu shot. There are recent studies in both the US and UK that show suspending the MTX for 2 weeks really boosts the antibodies from the covid shot.
I had my 3rd booster (Pfizer) on Tuesday. On Wednesday afternoon I developed a rash on my back that was in a straight line & was itching. By Thursday morning,it was worse. Fortunately I was able to get an appointment with my primary physician, who diagnosed me with shingles. So I am highly suspicious that with my suppressed immunity that the Covid vaccine triggered the shingles. I have not been able to have the shingles shots, so if you are in a similar situation, you may want to get the Shingrix first. Fortunately my shingles are currently mild to medium and I am taking Valtrex to control the symptoms.
I've had Covid vacc number 6 . Moderna this time, all the others were Pfizer, no side effects whatsoever. I take MTX on a Monday so stopped it for 2 weeks. Had Flu jab 10 days after Covid jab, no side effects. Will resume MTX Monday 10th. Will be having Pneumonia jab on Wednesday 12th.
