sick day rules

hi Iv just looked at sick day rules and I’m thinking to up steroids, I know feel worse with sweats no temp headache tiredness muscle aches. Iv been in bed yesterday and today not like me. I’m not feeling good at all. Shall I up dose.

hi I am on steroids for adrenal insufficiency and to be honest feel as you describe most days .

I’m guessing yours is a different situation, with PMR or GCA (which are self limiting diseases) after initial higher doses patients can usually reduce Pred until their illnesses go into remission. So when they get to around physiological level of cortisol normally produced the adrenals do begin to start working again.

As your dependence on HC is permanent, life must be very difficult at times trying to find the balance -I wish you well, and it does put our issues into context.

have you tested for Covid? These are the symptoms I had 2 weeks ago with Covid. I did go up from 3.5 to 8 for several days in the end now back to usual dose. Muscle aches across the back were a signal to me my body isn’t coping. I have adrenal insufficiency.

I'm on hydrocortisone for adrenal insufficiency. I double it for a stressful medical event (eg cataract, bone biopsy) for the day and for as long as there is any significant pain. and i have doubled it for Covid every day i was positive and knew i was fighting an infection. I don't increase if I'm a bit under the weather. It's tricky and I often wonder what to do too. Good luck. Hope you feel better soon.

Perhaps speak to your GP? Did you have antibiotics for your UTI?

yes antibiotics for uti and Gp says I have a virus said up to me if I increase for few days!
